My husband and I are adoptive parents to two wonderful, complicated, spirited, loving, extraordinarily strong girls. They’re wonderful and we love them to bits.
Our family life is loving, playful, full of laughter, chaotic, messy, breathtakingly beautiful and heartbreakingly difficult all at the same time.
Adoptive parenting comes with its own challenges. The threads of loss and trauma that run through the core of our family are inextricably tangled up with threads of love, hope and healing.
Blogging openly about adoption is a tricky business – the stories that lie at the heart of what we experience are not mine to tell, the emotions not mine to share.
But it helps me to write, to explore, to stand back and look at my experiences as an adoptive parent and here, I share what I can.
