I love stories. The power that they hold – to entertain, to transport, to make us feel, to share our humanity, our identity, our otherness.
Stories are woven throughout our culture – in books, film, television, song, online, in conversation – they are part of who we are.
I work as a storyteller, very much in the oral tradition of a bard or a minstrel, no multimedia or props, just me, a story, and an audience. The stillness, the otherwordly nature of a shared story, has a magic and a mystery in it that is fundamental to our humanity.
I write stories – both rewriting stories that I’ve collected from other sources and original material – and some of them find their way onto this blog.
